"It’s been about three weeks since my last post, and life has been a whirlwind. Here’s what’s been keeping me busy: On September 5th, the Doctor Doom skin dropped, and I’ve been hyped to play with it. Sadly, I left my keyboard at home, which has been super frustrating. So I had to wait about a day or two, but I was finally able to get one. Now that I’ve finally gotten to use it, I think I prefer the Pandora’s Armor Doom style over the original—it just has this unique vibe.
I’ve been on a mission to score the Armor of Doom in Battle Royale for a video, but this thing is so rare! For a while, the chances of finding it were going up—5% increments until it hit 45%. Then, out of nowhere, it plummeted to 12%. I feel pretty dumb for not taking advantage of that high spawn rate. Thankfully, I managed to snag it once and had an absolute blast playing with it. Definitely a moment of triumph.
I stumbled across a bag of old games, including an SNES! With a bit of extra space now, I can actually bring it back and relive some classic gaming. Watching YouTubers like Odd Tinkering and The 8-bit Guy, who restore old tech, got me inspired. There’s something so satisfying about restoring things, whether it’s old consoles or even cleaning up around the house. I fixed my GameCube's player ports, and while it’s not retro gaming, I also tackled some grimey spots on the toilet. Talk about multitasking!
For my English class, we dove into a passage and a lecture by Alan Watts. He really makes you think—he talked about how money, time, and ego are illusions that pull us away from experiencing reality. Watts’ message? Live in the present, because that’s where life actually happens. Let go of the past, stop worrying about how people see you, and stop being preoccupied with your own self-image. That’s easier said than done, but it’s been on my mind a lot lately.
Staying at my older brother’s place reignited my passion for plant and soil science. His lawn is practically dead, and there are weeds everywhere, so we decided to test the soil. We did a ribbon test and checked the pH, and it turns out the soil is sandy clay loam with a neutral pH. It’s perfect for growing, so we’re planning to get some earthworms for aeration and plant some alfalfa seeds and grass to bring the lawn back to life. I took a soil science class in high school and loved it, so this little project has been super satisfying.
My brother and I used to play Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom on the Xbox 360 all the time, and recently Fortnite added a Doctor Doom foot dive reference from the game. I talked about it a bit before, but I actually bought it again yesterday. On that note, I found this hilarious YouTuber, Lythero, who’s great at the game and super funny. Plus, I finally found a game I’ve been hunting for—Cloning Clyde! It’s been a great couple of months for gaming nostalgia: I found X-Men Arcade, Cloning Clyde, and now I’m back into UMvC3."
TLDR: It’s been a hectic few weeks! Got the Doctor Doom skin and prefer the Pandora's Armor style, finally scored the rare Armor of Doom, found my old SNES and plan to restore it, watched an Alan Watts lecture for class about living in the present and letting go of ego, rekindled my interest in soil science while staying at my brother's, rediscovered Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom and found a long-lost game, Cloning Clyde.

"I've basically been working on the website all day. There's now a guestbook and chatbox, I updated the graphics, updated the book list, added a cool little computer map thing, added a link to my gamejolt page, a bunch of stuff. The website is starting to come together, my next goal is to finish the remaining links and also begin creating style sheets for the pages. There are a few things I need to fix too, but I'm happy with how the site is looking. I also want to add a ton of dividers, stamps, blinkies, buttons, and links. But we'll see where things go! I have to say, I'm thrilled to be learning html and css. It's a similar feeling to what I felt when I created my YouTube channel. I already have so many of ideas for things to do or add. Aside from the website, I also have a video I'm supposed to working on for YouTube, but I have been so fixated on this site."
TLDR: Full day of NONSTOP WORK
