Welcome to my super duper cool website, everettlmaoworld! I am completely new to learning html and css, but I learned to make this website because I am passionate in my hatred of the modernized internet. Every social media site and platform gives the option to customiza a profile picture and a banner most of the time. However, in the semi-early days of the internet, it was much more of a hobbyist's wild west. Now we all go to the same four or five websites and rarely see what exists beyond.

So, the idea of making my own website actually didn't come from finding out about neocities. In fact, I thought the task would be much more difficult then it turned out to be. The idea came from when I was looking for YouTube tutorials for making an Earthbound-like game in GameMaker. I found a showcase posted by someone named Cidoku, and upon further investigation, I noticed they linked an old-school-esque personal website to their youtube channel. This is ultimately what inspired me to make my own website. I also came across Hypnospace Outlaw, which only further fueled my desire. Yet, months went by until I saw a video, "Why YOU Should Make a Website!" (LuvstarKei), which caused me to look into making my own website. That's when I finally found neocities and began coming up with ideas for my own website.
